As of 5:57 PM EST, services are currently up. Administrators remain alert, and we will continue to monitor and work the issue.
***UPDATE***
6:52 PM EST: Administrators have further traced the problem, and we must revise earlier statements. While originally believed to be a failure caused by a hardware issue, further investigation has found reason to believe this was a form of Denial-of-Service attack. Administrators will remain on guard, and we will update this post as more information becomes available.
